introducing hazelwood hideaway, a private apartment situated in the coastal village of silverdale, a designated aonb (area of outstanding natural beauty) on the lancashire/lakes border, now available for holiday lets. the apartment is part of hazelwood hall, a (redeveloped) victorian mansion nestled within 18 acres of woodland bordering the coast, which offers fabulous panoramic vistas across morecambe bay and around to the lakeland fells. (originally a wealthy industrialist’s residence, the hall has been a convent, hospital and nursing home before falling into disrepair. the estate was eventually acquired and sympathetically redeveloped in 2007 into 21 prestigious apartments and the gardens restored to their former glory.) hazelwood hideaway is a 2 bed/2 bath apartment on the 1st floor. there is an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area with patio doors that open out onto a large 50m2 patio with elevated views into the woodland canopy. the patio has a table and chairs for al fresco dining, as well as two recliners for your relaxation. the kitchen has marble worktops and is fully equipped with a fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave. in addition, it has all the essential cookware, crockery and utensils a kitchen needs should you wish to cook and dine in. the lounge area has a contemporary décor and is furnished with quality hardwood furniture and soft furnishings for your comfort. the assorted lamps & lighting offers a cosy ambience in the evening. there is a dining table to seat 4 and a comfortable 3–4-seater leather settee and matching armchair. there is free wi-fi and a 44” smart tv, plus a selection of boardgames for your entertainment. both bedrooms have king-size beds made up with hotel quality 100% cotton percale bedding. they have bedside drawers, lamps, mirror and a fitted wardrobe with hangers. there is space for a travel cot if you need to bring one. the sash windows open over the patio area and are fitted with wooden blinds. the master bedroom is ensuite. the luxurious bathrooms both feature a mirrored wall, heated towel rail, toilet, sink & shower cubicles. the ensuite has a separate bath also. hand soap, bodywash/shampoo is provided, as well a towel bail for each guest. there is a storeroom with a vacuum cleaner, clothes maiden, laundry basket, iron & ironing board and hairdryer, as well as various other cleaning apparatus. there is also a cool box/picnic set, rug, camping chairs and walking poles that you are welcome to borrow should you wish to go out for the day. the apartment is serviced by underfloor heating and is all electric providing instant hot water. it has a fully compliant wired-in fire alarm. there is a first aid kit, fire blanket and extinguisher in the storeroom, with additional extinguishers & automatic smoke-vents on each floor of the hall’s corridors. there is allocated parking for the apartment, plus a visitors’ car park that you are free to use. silverdale village centre has a late-night store providing all your essential groceries, a butcher’s, pharmacy, post office, café & indian restaurant/takeaway, as well as other eating and drinking establishments. hazelwood hideaway offers peaceful seclusion in a beautiful location. it’s a perfect base from which to explore north lancashire, the yorkshire dales and the wider lake district. surrounded by national trust land, it’s a haven for those who enjoy nature and the great outdoors. for bird watchers, rspb leighton moss is a short walk away, as is silverdale golf club and the local train station. please note that the apartment is situated on the first floor and which can only be accessed by steps up to the main entrance and a further set of internal stairs to the first floor. unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets. for all enquiries please
