Discover breathtaking views, royal heritage and amazing attractions, all in a beautiful riverside setting.Whether you are looking for panoramic views of London, rich culture, green spaces or a fun family day out, there are plenty of things to do in Greenwich. One of the most historically rich areas of the city, only eight minutes from Central London with Southeastern, Greenwich is home to some great London attractions, such as the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory with the Prime Meridian Line, and the tea clipper Cutty Sark. Admire the sights from the river with MBNA Thames Clippers boat services, relax in the magnificent Greenwich Park or walk up on top of the hill: the view embraces the Thames and the whole city, from Canary Wharf and The O2 to The Shard. Do some shopping and savour mouthwatering street food at Greenwich Market, or head to one of the best pubs and restaurants in Greenwich. The town centre is full of life with a cosmopolitan feel and an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants to keep both tourists and residents happy. It’s an absolutely beautiful place to live with lots of green space and tree-lined roads and location-wise it’s brilliant as it’s situated close to Central London and has good connections to the City of London via the DLR. If you like parks and outdoor attractions, then this is where Greenwich shines. Greenwich Park is one of the Royal parks like Hyde Park and Regents Park. It has lots of trees, rolling slopes, a playground, a kid's row boat pond, the Royal Observatory, tennis courts, a deer reserve and a few other bits besides. It's very beautiful, especially when the sun is shining. Blackheath Common is just around the corner (walk to the very top of the park and keep going), and in town there's a large open paved area where the Cutty Sark is dry-docked by the river, and there are some lovely views over the pier and of the docklands.Getting Around:Rail: London Bridge and Cannon Street are less than 15 minutes away by train from Greenwich and Maze Hill stations.Tube: North Greenwich is served by the Jubilee Line, taking just two minutes to reach Canary Wharf.DLR: There are two DLR stops, Cutty Sark and Greenwich, both linking to Docklands and the City.Boat: Many residents prefer to go across the water rather than under it. There are river bus stops at both Cutty Sark and North Greenwich, providing services to Canary Wharf, Blackfriars and London Bridge.Cycle: The Thames Path provides a traffic free walking and cycling route for the majority of the length of the Thames through Greenwich. The Greenwich Foot Tunnel, which runs underneath the Thames to the Isle of Dogs, is part of the UK’s National Cycle Route 1, linking to Dover and the Shetland Islands.Bus: Bus routes serving the area include the 188 (Russell Square), 199 (Canada Water), 177 (Peckham), as well as the N1 night bus from Tottenham Court Road.Other Things to Note:The area is quite busy so we would suggest some noise-cancelling earbuds if you are a light sleeper.
