Mon-Fri peaceful double room in South Wilmslow for easy-going professional sharer, in a quiet street with shops nearby. Driveway parking with electric charger. 25' drive to Media City, 15' drive to Alderley Park (and regular buses), 20 min brisk walk to station with direct trains to Stockport, Manchester and London. My house is light and sunny with a lovely garden you are welcome to enjoy. The double room is a reasonable size with some storage. You have sole use of the bathroom with shower when you are in the house. (There are two other small cloakrooms in the house). The kitchen, dining and living room area is open plan, so we'll be sharing the space. You'd also have to like (or tolerate) my dog: a small friendly terrier called Olive. I'm looking for someone who pays council tax at their permanent residence so I can maintain my sole-occupier status for council tax purposes. If you need a room just for 2-3 nights a week, then I will reduce the price. If you want to use your bike here, I have a safe lock up bike shed. Wilsmlow station is a brisk 20 minute walk from my house. There are direct rail links to Manchester (about 3 an hour), trains to Manchester Airport (or 15' by taxi), 10 mins to Stockport and a direct train to London every hour. Also buses to Alderley Park and towns nearby. The walking is good, with many footpaths, parks and open spaces. You can walk to Alderley Edge and drive a bit further to the Macclesfield hills and the Peak District. At the end of my street is a path on to Lindow Moss - a very special place where Lindow Man was found 40 years ago. The peat bog is now being restored after many years of peat extraction. There's a weekly park run, running, walking and cycling groups and many other social activities. Wilmslow is a leafy, well-heeled town of just under 27,000 people with shops (including a department store), cafes, restaurants and a local cinema. People are friendly and sociable, there are great evening classes at the Wilmslow Guild, various gyms and pilates classes, a good leisure centre with a 25 metre pool and plenty of places to enjoy a meal. Our local eco-group Transition Wilmslow is very active, supporting 4 community gardens, biodiversity, sustainable transport, renewable energy for housing and restoration of Lindow Moss, the peat bog.
